Istria is limestone, and limestone leaks. Rain sinks straight through it, and over a few…
Istria is small enough to see properly. From Rovinj, Poreč is forty minutes up the coast, Pula and its Roman amphitheatre forty minutes down it, and the hill towns of the interior are an hour inland through vineyards and oak forest.
What Istria does not have is a public transport network built for visitors. Buses between coastal towns thin out in the shoulder season and mostly stop running in the evening; getting to Motovun or Grožnjan without a car is close to impossible. Hiring a car for one day trip means a day of parking in towns that are largely pedestrianised.
A private transfer solves the awkward part. We pick you up at your address in Rovinj, drive you to the town, and either wait or come back at an agreed time — so you can have the long lunch, or the wine tasting, and not think about the drive home. Every route below is a fixed price per vehicle for up to four passengers, with minivans for up to eight.
